Greetings and welcome to Friday!
We’ve got a shorter update this week. Paul was out Wednesday and Thursday (for Susan’s 60th birthday). Leslie was at the NADO conference (helping to deliver the session: “Advancing Regional Sectors Through Collaboration”) and the Regards to Rural (R2R) conference (helping to deliver the session: “Power With: Strengthening and Sustaining Rural Collaborative Efforts”) in Bend. Stacie and Allyson also attended the R2R conference.
Here’s our weekly team update:
-
- Partner Support/Community Support
- Art, Oysters & Brews – Stacie reviewed/edited the vendor application form and figured out how to automate the registration confirmation emails using an add-on. She also created drafts of the 2026 save the date and call for vendor graphics. Sarah reached out to a potential food truck, the petting zoo, and began the process of applying for the necessary permits through the City of Toledo.
- City of Newport/Lincoln City – Sarah worked on updating the City of Lincoln City and City of Newport reports EDALC puts together to demonstrate our work when asking those cities for funding.
- Blue Economy/O2IH
-
-
- New Department of Energy Program – Paul spent some time reviewing the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Alternative Fuels and Feedstocks Office’s (formerly known as the Bioenergy Technologies Office) new NoFO entitled the “2026 Waste to Energy and Materials Technical Assistance Program” which just opened up this week – it looks very similar to an ETIPP grant which we applied to in 2024 and might be worth revisiting.
-
- Entrepreneurship
-
-
- KlamathIDEA – Paul will be traveling to Klamath Falls next Monday to deliver a talk on entrepreneurship as part of the KlamathIDEA Talks speaker series (like a TEDx talk).
-
- YEP – Sarah continued to work on YEP event planning, she coordinated catering with Kelliane and got the press release ready to send.
- Broadband
-
-
- BEAD – Yesterday, the Oregon Broadband Office (OBO) finalized Oregon’s Notice of Award with the federal government, locking in Oregon’s $688.9 million dollar award across 313 projects. The OBO can now enter into binding subgrant agreements with applicant ISPs – most project work won’t start until later in the year.
-
- Core Economic Development Services
- Oregon Prospector – Sarah did a big update and clean up to the Oregon Prospector listings and tracking spreadsheet.
- Community Connecting
- Organizational Management
- Marketing & Communication – Stacie finalized and scheduled the newsletter and created/posted an announcement of the newsletter publication to social media. She also shared partner posts and updates from R2R.
- Admin
- Paul continued work updating our EDALC report for Q1-Q3 of the current fiscal year – his goal is to wrap that work up late next week.
That’s it for this week – thanks for ALL that you are doing out there. Keep us posted if you have anything you want us to share – we love hearing from you! Have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers,
-The EDALC Team (Paul, Sarah, Leslie and Stacie)
