Outdoor Life

Lincoln County, on the central Pacific Coast of Oregon, is an outdoor recreation enthusiast’s dream. We have over sixty miles of gorgeous shoreline, from sandy beaches to rocky cliffs. Whether shore fishing, crabbing from a dock or fishing our streams and rivers, the angling is amazing. And if you’ve got a board, surfing is a year-round activity.

Hiking and biking trails abound, from the Oregon Coast Trail to smaller trails in our wonderful creative communities. With over 30 state parks, numerous local parks and the Siuslaw National forest, the camping options are limitless.

Housing

Housing options are varied, from luxurious beachfront homes to quiet houses nestled in the woods in the east county. Quality, low maintenance condominiums abound in every community. Numerous residents also enjoy year-round living in and RV or fifth-wheel in one of our long term RV parks. Check with one of our local realtors or browse Zillow to see what’s available.

There are also numerous rental options, from apartments to homes, to fit every budget. And if you are interested in building, we have numerous skilled builders.

Education

The educational options are as rich and diverse as our landscape. The Lincoln County School District operates fourteen schools and has an annual enrollment of over 5,400 students. The district offers an International Baccalaureate diploma program, a culinary arts program, CTE education and a Coastal Drone Academy.

For higher and continuing education the accredited Oregon Coast Community College has three local campuses. Oregon State University operates the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the main campus is less than 50 miles away.

Health and Wellness

Community health and well-being is an essential component of long-term quality of life. Lincoln County is fortunate to be home to not one, but two brand new Samaritan network hospitals: Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital and Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.

Lincoln County is also home to numerous fitness centers, dentists, eye centers, chiropractors, yoga centers and mental health and addition facilities. Lincoln County is a community that truly cares for its residents, day in and day out.

Arts and Culture

The arts and culture are alive and flourishing in Lincoln County. You can explore glass blowing studios, painting studios and galleries all across the county, from fine arts to hand thrown pottery.

Newport is home to the Newport Symphony Orchestra, the Performing Arts Center and the Visual Arts Center. The Lincoln City Cultural Center support numerous events and is home to the Chessman gallery. In the summer, Lincoln County comes alive with events for every passion, from live music to antique boats.

Public Safety

Lincoln County is a safe and secure place to call home. With professional law enforcement in the county and larger towns, caring professionals work every day to serve and protect. In addition, many organizations and programs are in place to guide and assist at-risk populations.

Numerous fire districts, with both full-time and volunteer firefighters, work together to quickly extinguish residential and commercial fires, looking always first to the safety of our residents. In addition, fire crews work in concert with their regional counterparts and the state and federal forest services.

Broadband

If you are one of the growing number of professionals who can choose to live where they want and work online, then Lincoln County can be a great home base!

One of the most essential twenty-first century tools is broadband Internet connectivity, essential for remote work and also for your business and office. While Lincoln County isn’t fully wired corner to corner (we’re working on it!), we do have a number of fiber-optic trunk lines running north-south along 101 and numerous high speed Internet providers, including CenturyLink, Spectrum and Wave.

Utilities

Lincoln County’s utilities offer very competitive pricing, which provides an advantage to residents and businesses.

North Lincoln County is served by Pacific Power while the central and southern county is served by the Central Lincoln People’s Utility District.

Both utility companies promote energy efficiency through incentive programs and stand at the ready to help your business get the services it needs to stay competitive.

Transportation

The main thoroughfare through Lincoln County is Coast Highway 101 running north-south. The Corvallis-Newport Highway (Hwy 20) connects Lincoln County to Corvallis and Interstate 5.

Newport has a general aviation airport, and Portland International Airport (PDX) is two and a half hours northeast.

In addition, Lincoln County Transit is part of the North by Northwest Connector system, providing bus service throughout the county and to Corvallis and Albany to the east.
