Paul’s week:

Stakeholder Listening Sessions – I had a great long call with Greg Wolf from the Association of Oregon Counties yesterday – we talked about the listening sessions and next steps forward for county-wide economic development. It really feels like we’re all getting close to the same page. We’ll be having an executive committee meeting on Monday to discuss next steps, and I’ll also be participating in a followup discussion in the next week or so with Commissioner Hunt, Greg Wolf and Frank Burris.

Toledo Projects – We had a solid meeting on Monday outlining next steps for the Phantom Gallery art project on Main Street. I trekked out to Toledo this afternoon to take a photo inventory of empty storefronts on Main Street. I also met with the fellow who is working on renovating the old Yaquina Bay Hotel and got a tour of the place. I pulled together a draft survey for Main Street landlords that I shot off to Mayor Cross and crew for feedback.

Lincoln City Outlets – I had a Zoom meeting and several calls with Sharyn Jasmer, the general manager of the outlet mall. She shared with me a new concept they are looking to develop in the SW corner of the mall (still pretty hush hush). Last Saturday, Susan and I trekked up there to check out the space and get some first impressions (I need to see things with my own eyes), and this week, I submitted my initial thoughts and suggestions to Sharyn. Hopefully we’ll circle back after the holiday to help them further refine their concept – could be way cool!

Cliff Collard – I had a call last week and learned that former EDALC board member (and executive committee member) Cliff Collard has passed away. His widow called for some details for his obituary and Curt helped out with the information.

As a reminder, we’ve got our December meeting (focusing on discussion the grant applications) next Thursday. I’ll send an Outlook invite next week, but here’s the meeting info:
