Greetings and welcome to Tuesday! A short week today because of the Christmas Holiday. As a reminder, EDALC offices will be closed through the New Year, with the team back at it on Monday, January 5th. EDALC staff will be gathering at the Sealion Dockside Bar at 2:30 this afternoon for some holiday libations and toasts celebrating the last year of good work. Join us if you are in the neighborhood!

Here’s our “mini” weekly update:

    • Partner Support/Community Support
      • CWEDD – Paul submitted the final invoices to the CW COG accounting department for the CWEDD/CEDS video that Sarah completed.
    • Entrepreneurship
  • Cascades West Innovation Hub – Paul, Stacie, and Sarah finalized the invite list for Lincoln County service providers. Stacie published the Eventbrite page and sent the first round of invitations for our 1/27/26 event, Fueling Growth: How Lincoln County Service Providers Can Support Innovation-Based Businesses. Paul worked on getting a couple more panelists on board and Sarah compiled a list of local support providers for CWIH partnership manager Mary Phillips.
      • EDA Disaster Supplemental – Paul shared notes on the scope and structure of a Lincoln County Business Incubator with Rural Prosperity Partners (our grant writers on this project). Paul also set up a meeting with the EDA’s Wes Cochran after the New Year to walk through the grant application.
      • Rural Opportunity Initiative – EDALC received the final signed and executed ROI grant contract today – the initial payment should hit EDALC in mid-January.
    • Core Economic Development Services
  • 2026 Lincoln County Economic Summit (3/12/26) – Paul reached out to potential keynote speakers.
  • Lincoln County Economic Report Update – Sarah continued to review the latest version of the Lincoln County Economic Report.
  • Oregon Prospector – Sarah updated Oregon Prospector listings and added new ones.
    • Community Connecting
      • Funding and Aligned Collaborative Project Brainstorming for CC Sustainability, continued – The remainder of Leslie’s short work week has been filled with finishing up planning documents (Collaborative Continuum Activity and Concept Slides, Event Sponsorship Level Concepts, Creative Community Economic Development Recommendations, Outline of Potential CC Funding Possibilities) and a year-in-review retrospective on community progress, events, & pictures. Leslie’s looking forward to having these resources to help collaboratively plan and launch 2026 with the EDALC team and our many community partners.

Just a reminder – we will have our grant review meeting (via Zoom) on Thursday, January 8th at 3:30pm. Please have your scoresheets to Paul by Tuesday, January 6th.

That’s it for this week, thanks for ALL that you are doing out there. Keep us posted if you have anything you want us to share – we love hearing from you! Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!
