Greetings and welcome to 2025! Hopefully it was a festive and fun New Years celebration across the board. So sorry the Ducks were humiliated on New Years day by Ohio State, but there is some consolation in the fact that all the first-round bye teams got knocked out – and we’re left with an “old school” final four.
A shorter update this week, but we wanted to get back on track before the “real work” kicks in next Monday. Here’s our team update:
-
- Partner Support/Community Support
- COG – Paul reviewed two loan applications as part of his role on the COG’s Loan Review Subcommittee.
- YBEF – Paul secured a new URL and solicited a proposal to build a new dedicated website for YBEF.
- Partner Support/Community Support
- Blue Economy/O2IH
-
-
- Website – Stacie, Paul and Sarah met with Shawn Livengood this morning to get a progress update on the O2IH website project. We’ve got the URL and hosting in place, the Content Management System loaded and a “kit” (think “theme”) selected. Shawn listened to our preferences in a previous meeting and built out a very solid site map. Stacie got Sarah up to speed on the previous meeting and the updated project plan.
-
- Entrepreneurship
- Cascades West Innovation Hub Groundwork – Stacie followed up on getting the previous stage’s stakeholder list from Susan, and provided Susan + fellow subcontractors with Monday.com project access.
- Core Economic Development Services
-
-
- Oregon Prospector – Sarah added some new listings onto Oregon Prospector.
-
- Economic Summit – Sarah worked on the pillars of the local economy videos and event logistics. She also worked on the Lincoln County Civic Lexicon.
- Community Connecting
- Dreaming into 2025 and Beyond – Do you have big community-improving ideas for the year ahead that can benefit from the Community Connector’s 7+ years of built social capital and trusted regional networks? It is an ideal time to reach out and talk with Leslie to see how combining efforts can make Lincoln County a better place to work, play, and live.

- Bi-Annual Report – The whole EDALC team worked last week and this week to wrap up (with final proof on Monday) a bi-annual report (Qs 1 & 2) of EDALC’s work and accomplishments to date in the fiscal year. The team also collaborated on a supplement template that will allow reporting out for individual communities.
- Budget Planning – Paul has started preliminary budget planning for the 25-26 fiscal year. Paul and Leslie met to discuss strategies to continue funding for the Community Connector position after the one-year grant is completed – it is likely that The Ford Family Foundation will continue funding this work, but most likely at a lesser level.
- Stacie Full Time – Stacie will be moving to full-time (wah hoo!!) on January 11th (first full time day in the office will be Monday, January 13th). As part of the process, the entire team is reviewing all job descriptions – we expect there will be some shifts and position title changes.
- Team Meeting – We met on Thursday in the office to discuss current and upcoming project work assignments and capacity. Stacie will be moving these to weekly once full time as we need more time to discuss our many goings on.
That’s it for this week. Thanks for ALL that you are doing out there! Keep us posted if you have anything you want us to share, and don’t be stingy with your ideas – we love hearing from you! Have a wonderful holiday!!
Cheers,
-The EDALC Team (Paul, Sarah, Leslie and Stacie)
