Greetings and welcome to Thursday! We’re a day early this week because of the Christmas weekend. I hope you all have a wonderful and very Merry Christmas!
Here’s our (slightly shorter) EDALC update for the week:
====
Rural Opportunity Initiative – We received our ROI contract from Business Oregon this week. It all looks pretty straightforward. Next week, I’ll schedule out some of the milestones for the year and begin some of the preliminary planning. I’ll get it signed early next week and back to them, and we should expect the year one payment in January.
EDALC Website – I was able to check off quite a number of long-overdue website tweaks this week and get our site dialed in and tightened up. There are a number of new things I want to add to the site early next year, and this week’s work got the site backend and Avada page-builder back in the front of my brain.
O2IH – I worked on several updates to our short two-page O2IH into-sheet. I’ve attached it to this week’s update. If you get a chance, look it over next week and let me know if I need to add some clarity to any of the sections – it’s meant to be a super-quick primer on what O2IH is all about.
2022 Planning – I spent some time this week, and will spend much of next week, teasing apart our mega mind map for 2022 into smaller projects and milestones. We’ve got a very busy year ahead of us in 2022, and I want to make sure we’re well planned out in order to be mostly proactive rather than reactive. I’ll be moving my master planning back to Monday.com (the project management tool I used in Michigan) – they’ve done some solid upgrades, and now it has tools for fundraising management, event management and grants management, in addition to regular project management.
CWEDD Grant – One Design Development wrapped up their scope of work on our custom WordPress plugin this week. I went over our contract with the developer and got everything checked off to my satisfaction, so I sent his final invoice over the Newport for payment (remember they are our partner and fiscal agent on this grant). The next step will be refining the look of the strategic plan display in WordPress and pulling together our initial stakeholders to begin pulling in some content.
Holiday Newsletter – We got our newsletter out first thing Tuesday morning. Thanks to Tracy for the great holiday intro! The newsletter went out to around 200 folks on our electronic mailing list and we’ve received some great feedback on it. I’m glad we got this out, since it gets EDALC back in front of folks in time for the new year.
Miscellaneous End of Year Tasks – Since I wasn’t drowning in Zoom meetings this week, I was able to get to a lot of pesky little tasks done, like tidying up (not quite to a Marie Kondo level) my filing system, cleaning up and wrapping up tasks on my big post-it-note-powered Kanban board in the office and filling out and filing a number of reports.
As a reminder – your Board of Directors resource page is here:
FYI – if you are ever looking for a past agenda or minutes, you can find links to those on the Resource page, as well as a complete archive of these weekly updates.
Have a wonderful Christmas weekend! We’ll be doing our traditional fondue on Christmas Eve and watching It’s a Wonderful Life (Susan and I have that memorized almost word for word). On Christmas, we’ll be doing a Snake River Farms ham with an orange-pomegranate glaze – yum! Feast well out there folks!
Thanks for ALL that you are doing out there! Please reach out to me if you need anything at all.
Cheers,
-Paul 🙂
